About the Role

The AI Software Engineer II will develop, program, and train complex networks of algorithms that encompass AI to function like a human brain. Operating within the Environmental Solutions Group - 3rd Eye, this role involves creating, developing, and testing machine learning models, building AI applications, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deploy AI solutions on edge devices. The position supports the company's mission of sustainable innovation and environmental stewardship, contributing to transforming the waste industry with eco-friendly technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Model, build, and test AI software, including computer vision and machine learning models, to ensure it can process large data sets and achieve desired results.
Use Python, JavaScript, and C++ to create faster, more capable AI systems.
Analyze statistics, data, and algorithms for projection accuracy.
Use AI analysis to make strategic recommendations aligned with company goals.
Work with a team of machine-learning and data engineers to ensure seamless AI development and integration.
Partner with firmware teams to deploy AI models on edge devices.
Develop and implement AI solutions for real-time processing on edge devices.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and design efficient edge computing solutions.
Stay current on AI knowledge, trends, and regulations.
Collect, organize, and present progress updates to team leadership and stakeholders.
Minimal travel up to once per quarter for team events.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
3-5+ years of experience with Python.
Proficient Linux knowledge.
Strong programming skills with moderate to high experience in Python.
Excellent knowledge of relational databases such as MySQL, SQL Server, and/or Snowflake.
Understanding of Agile software development practices and continuous delivery.
Experience with data ETL processes from multiple sources.
Experience with test-driven development (TDD).
Knowledge of Pandas Python frameworks.
Proficient understanding of version control systems (git).
Proficient understanding of Jenkins and build management tools.
Strong organizational, mathematical (statistical), analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Comfortable working independently and handling routine matters proactively.
Proficiency in programming embedded systems and deploying AI on edge devices.

Nice to Have

Experience with edge models and deployment.
Experience with SageMaker and Rekognition.
Experience with Power BI.

Qualifications

Educational background in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields, or equivalent experience.
