About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Research and develop advanced machine learning methods to assess technical feasibility and business value.
• Utilize effective project planning techniques to break down projects into tasks and ensure deadlines are met.
• Use and learn a variety of tools and languages such as Python, SQL, and machine learning libraries to achieve results.
• Collaborate with team members to improve the effectiveness of business decisions through data and predictive modeling.
• Execute modeling and machine learning projects effectively.
• Review and evaluate the appropriateness of techniques, presenting findings to senior leadership.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a PhD in a quantitative field such as mathematics, statistics, computer or physical science.
• Knowledge of reinforcement learning from coursework.
• Familiarity with MDP framework including value, action value functions, reward, Monte Carlo methods.
• Experience with implementing model-free reinforcement learning algorithms, especially policy gradient methods like REINFORCE, Actor-Critic, and Proximal Policy Optimization.
• Fluency in Python programming and ability to run simulations.
• Knowledge of programmatic advertising business is a strong plus.
• Experience with cloud computing services such as Vertax AI, Sagemaker, or data warehouse services like BigQuery is a plus.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a graduate degree program, pursuing a PhD in a relevant quantitative field.
