About the Role

The Automation Test Engineer will leverage their experience in software testing and development to design, execute, and automate test scripts and plans. They will play a key role in transforming the way the Intelligence Community utilizes technology by supporting cloud migration, integrating advanced technologies, and modernizing legacy systems. The role involves translating customer IT needs into detailed specifications and mentoring future solutions architects, contributing to innovative technology solutions within a security-sensitive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute test scripts, test plans, and procedures, documenting expected and actual results.
  • Create and update automated test cases and scripts.
  • Work with CI/CD pipelines, such as Jenkins, to automate testing processes.
  • Generate and manage test data for various testing activities.
  • Apply test methodologies throughout the software release cycle, including effort estimation and tracking.
  • Support testing in Linux environments.
  • Translate customer requirements into technical specifications and test cases.
  • Mentor junior team members to develop their testing and technical skills.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience with testing or developing software applications.
  • Experience designing and executing test scripts, plans, and procedures.
  • Experience in creating and updating automated test cases and scripts.
  • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines, such as Jenkins.
  • Experience with test methodologies, software release cycles, and test effort estimation.
  • Experience in Linux environments.
  • Experience generating and managing test data.
  • TS/SCI security clearance.
  • HS diploma or GED.
  • Security+ CE, SSCP, CCNA-Security, or GSEC Certification.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with programming in Java.
  • Experience with testing frameworks such as Selenium or TestNG.
  • Experience with Load or Performance testing tools like JMeter.
  • Experience testing Cloud-based architectures.
  • Experience with Agile release methodologies.
  • Experience in backend testing, API testing, UI testing, and database queries.
  • Experience with functional, integration, regression, and performance testing.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or an IT field.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Security+ CE, SSCP, CCNA-Security, or GSEC Certification.
