About the Role

The Business Intelligence Analyst at Toyota is responsible for transforming data into insights that drive business value. This role works closely with stakeholders across departments to identify trends, develop dashboards, and support data-driven decision-making. The position involves working with information digital solutions, Risk team members, Enterprise D&A, business stakeholders, and vendors to formulate strategies that support Toyota's strategic vision, maximize revenue, enhance client retention, and reduce risk, all while meeting Toyota's technology standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, clean, and analyze large datasets from internal and external sources.
  • Partner with the business to identify data and reporting needs.
  • Manage SQL, query, and other related databases for data analysis.
  • Perform data modeling using Python and/or other relevant programming languages.
  • Develop, manage, and communicate data analysis and reports.
  • Manage and maintain process documentation and reports within Power BI.
  • Perform proof of concept for reports and other business solutions.
  • Support the Company's vision for cloud-based data and reporting strategy.
  • Oversee the development of reports (dashboards, views), from discovery through implementation, and ensure alignment with BI data and reporting governance practices.
  • Facilitate and participate in project status meetings to identify and resolve issues and mitigate risks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and deliver solutions.
  • Lead business requirements/user stories gathering sessions with stakeholders and IT.
  • Ensure business needs and requirements are communicated, understood, and documented.
  • Translate business and user requirements into system requirements.
  • Develop new tools to support automation of manual processes and reports.
  • Apply problem-solving and analytical skills to uncover insights buried in data.
  • Evaluate effects and implications of possible actions based on data insights.
  • Support data stewardship.
  • Support the Enterprise Risk Management Committee with analysis, reports, and recommendations.
  • Monitor Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) continuously.
  • Develop and enhance reports for Portfolio Management.
  • Conduct data segregation to understand root causes of issues.
  • Build data-driven presentations and reports for TCPR Executives and stakeholders.
  • Ensure calibration of models and enhance controls (Auto Approval, CDX, Pricing, etc.).
  • Assist in developing applications focusing on data classification, privacy, protection, and security controls.
  • Assess local databases for standardization and optimization.
  • Ensure database fields are well documented.
  • Assist in defining and designing components for local databases.
  • Write secure, scalable code and maintain programming documentation.
  • Update and validate reports used for decision-making (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).

Requirements

  • Four-Year College Degree (BA or BS) in Business administration, Information Technology.
  • 2-5 years of relevant / progressive work experience in a similar field and/or industry.
  • Expertise in SQL and querying related databases.
  • Ability to interpret and present findings clearly, including creating charts and graphics.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish.
  • High organization skills and ability to work in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook.
  • Skilled in data mining and analysis for patterns and trends using quantitative and analytical tools.

Nice to Have

  • 5-10 years of relevant / progressive work experience in a similar field and/or industry.
  • Experience with Python and other programming languages for data modeling.
  • Expertise in Tableau, Power BI, or other reporting tools.
  • Knowledge of Kaizen, Lean, Agile, Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Experience in Financial Services, banking, or automotive industry.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Portfolio Management.
  • Project management knowledge.

Benefits & Perks

  • Work schedule: Monday-Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with possible overtime, weekends, and holidays.
  • Travel up to 5% of the time.
  • Position based out of San Juan, Puerto Rico (no relocation assistance).
