Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines for collecting, processing, and transforming large volumes of structured and unstructured data from various sources to ensure data is readily available for analysis and reporting
  • Build, maintain, and optimize scalable data warehouses and databases using tools such as SQL, Snowflake, Redshift, or similar platforms, ensuring high data quality, accuracy, and reliability
  • Partner with data analysts and data scientists to understand data requirements, provide data engineering support, and ensure data structures and pipelines align with business goals
  • Develop processes for data validation, testing, and error handling to ensure data integrity across all platforms and pipelines
  • Design and manage data infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP) and implement best practices for data storage, compute optimization, and security compliance
  • Automate repetitive tasks, implement data processing improvements, and optimize data pipelines to improve efficiency and performance
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation of data architecture, data pipelines, and data governance standards, and promote best practices while mentoring junior team members

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, data warehousing, or similar roles, with a solid background in building and optimizing data pipelines and architectures
  • Experience with cloud data platforms such as Azure Databricks, AWS, Azure, GCP, including services like Redshift, Snowflake, Databricks, or similar
  • Hands-on experience with data orchestration tools (e.g., Databricks, Apache Airflow, AWS Glue) and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Domo)
  • Proficiency in SQL for data manipulation and management; experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala
  • Understanding of ETL/ELT processes, data integration, and data transformation
  • Familiarity with data modeling, schema design, and relational and non-relational database systems
  • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and a proactive approach to ensuring data reliability
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present insights to technical and non-technical audiences

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Marketing Automation engines (Eloqua, Marketo, SalesForce, etc)
  • Experience running Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning models
  • Experience using source control (GitHub)
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps principles
  • Solid understanding of SQL query performance
  • Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark)
  • Knowledge of data governance and data security best practices, including HIPAA compliance
