Chief Data Scientist (Remote)

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Define enterprise AI/ML platforms with a focus on LLMs, generative AI, and predictive modeling.
• Implement model-driven features from initial concept to production, including model creation, evaluation, performance metrics, A/B testing, drift monitoring, and self-correction with feedback loops.
• Coach and train data and AI engineers, setting an example for the organization.
• Stay at the forefront of AI/ML research, evaluate and integrate cutting-edge tools and frameworks.
• Foster a culture of experimentation and continuous learning within the data science team.
• Create high levels of engagement across teams in partnership with other key leaders.
• Lead the design of AI and Machine Learning initiatives to support business growth and operational efficiency.
• Orchestrate Agentic AI across multiple SaaS infrastructures such as Snowflake, Azure, ServiceNow, and Looker.
• Work with senior executives and clients to develop solutions that significantly impact their business.

Requirements

• Minimum of 12 years of experience in computer science, data science, statistics, or related fields, with a focus on machine learning, data analytics, or algorithmic product development.
• Deep expertise in statistics, econometrics, predictive analytics, and related disciplines.
• Experience with modeling tools and languages such as Python, PyTorch, JAX, TensorFlow, SQL, and deploying models on cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, GCP.
• Demonstrated experience leading data-driven initiatives; experience leading people is preferred.
• Experience with multi-modal LLMs, A/B testing, and MLOps practices for systemic model application and maintenance.
• Hands-on experience deploying scalable, high-throughput, multi-modal ML models in Azure.
• Experience analyzing datasets with statistical and predictive modeling foundations, including foundation models.
• Experience creating patents, publications, or speaking at top conferences such as CVPR, IEEE, SIGKDD, AAAI, NeurIPS.
• Proven ability to collaborate and deliver results in fast-paced, multifaceted, matrix environments.
• Strong problem-solving skills, ability to work with abstract ideas, and drive cross-team collaboration.
• Excellent public speaking, presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to travel up to 50%.
• Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, or related field; Master's or Ph.D. preferred.

Nice to Have

• Experience building pricing models, forecasting, and smart work assignment.
• Experience with patents, publications, or conference presentations in relevant AI/ML fields.
