The role of Data Analyst is part of the Operations Analytics team in Carlsbad, CA, offering a hybrid work model that combines in-office collaboration with remote flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

Provide analytics and insights into manufacturing, supply chain, and business systems to support broad program areas across Viasat.
Aggregate, cleanse, join, and store data from varied sources.
Develop analytical models and automate reporting processes.
Build dashboards for end business users to visualize data insights.
Work within SAP, SAC, and Tableau to embed analytics, dashboarding, and advanced analytics.
Parse and manipulate raw data using tools including SQL, Python, Tableau, and SAC.
Ingest, understand, and synthesize large data sets from various sources to develop comprehensive insights.
Analyze large data sets to identify key insights and develop efficient data analysis processes.
Design and implement analytics solutions using SAP Analytics Cloud and SAP HANA, including SAP HANA Calculation Views, CDS Views, and SAC data modeling.
Identify data gaps, research methods to fill these gaps, and provide recommendations.
Build intuitive and actionable dashboards and data visualizations to support business decisions.

Requirements

5+ years of related experience.
3+ years of SQL experience.
3+ years of data analysis experience with emphasis on reporting.
2+ years of Python experience in data cleansing, statistics, and visualization packages.
2+ years of dashboarding experience.
Experience with Tableau or SAC and data visualization tools.
Proficiency in crafting visualizations with charts, tables, maps, filters, and interactive objects.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
US Citizenship is required.
Ability to work out of Carlsbad, CA, or fully remote in the US.

Nice to Have

Business Intelligence tools such as Tableau and SAC.
Proficiency in SAP HANA data modeling using Attribute View, Analytic View, and Calculation View.
SAP/SAC Certifications.
Familiarity with corporate ERP systems like Oracle and SAP.
Superb communication and teamwork abilities.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
