About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Use engineering fundamentals to identify problems through various data sources such as Warranty, Telematics, Customer Relations, NHTSA, and Surveys.
• Look for data trends not previously identified through deep understanding of the data.
• Support cleaning data to ensure proper classification of market problems.
• Transform data using SQL, Python, etc., to identify trends that lead to actionable problems and defend analysis to promote countermeasure activity.
• Generate groupings to support identification and classification of market problems.
• Utilize modelling, statistics, and trend analysis to forecast future failure rates for known problems.
• Complete multiple investigations monthly through deep analysis of data related to market problems exceeding quality triggers.
• Find problems worthy of a full market investigation and achieve consensus with MQ on next steps.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years in data analytics or information analysis.
• Use of engineering fundamentals to identify problems through various data sources.
• Experience with data trend analysis and data cleaning techniques.
• Proficiency in transforming data using SQL, Python, and other tools.
• Strong problem-solving skills to ensure data accuracy and defend analysis results.
• Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and visual).
• Excellent attention to detail and proficiency in query languages such as SQL.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
• Prioritization skills to manage workload and make sound decisions.
• Experience with data science toolkits such as R, Python, and NumPy.
• Knowledge of data gathering, cleaning, and transforming techniques.
• Educational background: BS in Engineering, Data Analytics, Mathematics, Economics, or Computer Science.

Nice to Have

• Business intelligence programming experience (QlikView, Qlik Sense, Power BI).
• Applied statistics skills such as distributions, statistical testing, regression, etc.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (Engineering, Data Analytics, Mathematics, Economics, or Computer Science).
• Preferred: Master's Degree.
