About the Role

The Lead Data Engineer at Booz Allen is responsible for building advanced technology solutions and implementing data engineering activities on mission-driven projects. The role involves deploying and developing pipelines and platforms that organize and make disparate data meaningful, working with a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment to assess, design, build, and maintain scalable data platforms to support critical global cyber missions.

Key Responsibilities

Help build advanced technology solutions and implement data engineering activities on mission-driven projects.
Deploy and develop data pipelines and platforms that organize and make disparate data meaningful.
Work with and guide a multi-disciplinary team of analysts, data engineers, developers, and data consumers.
Manage the assessment, design, building, and maintenance of scalable data platforms for clients.
Use experience in analytical exploration and data examination to support project goals.

Requirements

Experience leading technical teams and driving technical decision making.
Experience with ETL and data pipeline development using tools such as Elastic or NiFi.
Experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
Experience with data modeling, including schema development.
Experience with database management and data warehousing.
Ability to collaborate within a cross-functional team.
TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph.
HS diploma or GED and 6+ years of experience in data engineering, or Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of experience in data engineering.

Nice to Have

Experience with DoD information systems.
Experience with knowledge management tools such as the Atlassian suite.
Experience with version control software such as Git.
Experience with development approaches such as Agile or SAFe.
Experience designing and maintaining Data Lakes or Data Lake houses.
Possession of excellent communication skills.
Master's degree.
