About the Role

Infosys is seeking a Lead Data Scientist with high-tech and Python experience to solve business problems for Retail/CPG clients through data-driven insights. The role involves combining domain knowledge, analytical expertise, client interfacing skills, and solution design to deliver impactful insights, communicate effectively with non-technical audiences, mentor junior staff, and advise on analytical models and platforms within Infosys's guidelines and policies. The position emphasizes teamwork, collaboration, excellence, diversity, and continuous learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Solve business problems for Retail/CPG clients through data-driven insights.
  • Communicate data-derived insights effectively to non-technical audiences.
  • Mentor junior consultants and data scientists.
  • Refine user requirements and analyze data to answer business queries.
  • Develop and implement data mining, visualization, statistical modeling, pattern recognition, and optimization solutions.
  • Advise clients and internal teams on analytical models, platforms, and approaches for complex business problems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent from an accredited institution, or three years of progressive experience in lieu of education.
  • Located within commuting distance of Redmond, WA, Bellevue, WA, Richardson, TX, Indianapolis, IN, or Raleigh, NC, or willing to relocate; this is an on-site position.
  • Willingness to travel within the US.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • At least 4 years of experience in Information Technology.
  • At least 4 years of experience in Data Science/Analytics.
  • At least 4 years of experience in SQL for developing data pipelines.
  • Proven ability to create data pipelines to source and transform data.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience with ML coding in Python, including forecasting with time series and ML models (e.g., ARIMA, ARIMAX).
  • At least 4 years of experience working with Big Data Platforms, specifically Azure.
  • At least 3 years of experience with platforms similar to COSMOS (Scope) or Databricks (PySpark).

Nice to Have

  • MBA or MS from a prestigious university in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Applied Math, Operations Research, Computer Science, Engineering, or Physics.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Proven experience with GenAI and Large Language Models (LLM).
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research and advancements in High-Tech, ML/AI domains.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in diverse, multi-stakeholder teams in a global delivery environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent; or three years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
  • Experience in Data Science, Analytics, SQL, Python ML coding, and Big Data platforms.
