Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, iterate, and deploy machine learning models to predict sports outcomes and solve related problems.
  • Improve betting product offerings and optimize pricing techniques in collaboration with trading teams.
  • Construct models, analyze data, and develop solutions based on stakeholder questions or business needs.
  • Manage the data preparation process from collection through cleaning.
  • Build robust predictive models demonstrating feature and model selection capabilities.
  • Contribute to a production code environment and work with decision-makers to develop insights and improve business results.
  • Create dashboards and data visualizations for analysis and communication.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 1 year of industry experience in data science, analytics, or engineering preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a highly numerate major (Math, Stats, Econ, etc.) or relevant experience in data science.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with high proficiency in Python or R, and SQL.
  • Understanding and application of Bayesian statistics.
  • Experience building and using models to create production-level products and tools.
  • Comfortable with command line tools and GitHub.
  • Object-oriented design and coding skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work across teams, locations, and time zones.
  • Interest or experience in Sports Gaming and/or Fantasy Sports.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with machine learning techniques.
  • Familiarity with sports data and modeling player, team, and game performance.
  • Experience with dashboards and data visualization tools.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a highly numerate major or relevant experience.
  • At least 1 year of industry experience in data science, analytics, or engineering.
