Digital Executive Producer

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Manage content display across desktop and mobile platforms
• Be a newsroom leader and participate in morning and afternoon editorial meetings
• Contribute content to relevant events and stories as needed
• Assist with special project and sweeps planning and execution
• Work irregular hours, including weekends and holidays
• Think strategically about developing digital audiences and online capacities
• Help develop new opportunities to expand the news brand and services using new technologies
• Assist in managing sales content elements with revenue potential and user interest
• Possess live streaming knowledge
• Work in tandem with the News Director and other news managers
• Execute breaking news through push alerts, social media, and email alerts
• Develop and maintain new sections of the website based on news coverage
• Plan for long-term growth of the sites and set priorities for major events
• Manage social media posts and moderation of user comments

Requirements

• Passion for local news
• Innovative, user-focused, and proactive with creativity and initiative
• Strong editorial judgment
• At least three years of experience, with one-year news personnel management experience preferred
• Familiarity with AP Style
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with content management systems
• Ability to edit video and images
• Working knowledge of web standards and protocols
• Ability to understand and utilize broadcast and digital technology
• Bachelor's degree in Communication, Journalism, or a related field (preferred)
