About the Role

The Genomic Data Software Engineer will design, build, and test software solutions for a highly-automated sequencing laboratory, focusing on data visualization and interpretation of genomic calls. The role involves collaborating with scientists, researchers, and lab directors to develop software architecture patterns, primarily using Python, React, and related technologies, to support genomic data analysis and laboratory operations.

Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and test software solutions using Python for a highly-automated sequencing laboratory to provide data visualization and interpretation of genomic calls.
Collaborate with scientists, researchers, and lab directors to build out software architecture patterns.
Create APIs using Django REST Framework.
Use React to create User Interface (UI) for data review platform on AWS.
Create relational database systems using PostgreSQL.
Deploy software using Docker.
Respond to operational issues and resolve complex back-end software problems, including data storage, datasets, and modeling across micro-services architecture.
Implement message queues to sync data across different Laboratory Inventory Management System (LIMS) subsystems.
Automate time-consuming and clinically critical processes.
Build shared data modeling and UI libraries using Javascript.

Requirements

Master's Degree in Computer Science, plus 2 years of experience in the job offered.
Proficiency with Python, Django REST Framework, APIs, Javascript, React, Oracle or PostgreSQL, and Docker.
