About the Role

The Cigna Group's Summer Internship Program offers students the opportunity to work on impactful projects within the Product Analytics Department, focusing on providing reporting and analytical support for clinical, digital, and provider solutions. The program aims to give interns real-world experience, exposure to industry trends, and opportunities to network through activities like speaker series, volunteer events, and workshops. The internship is designed to prepare candidates for full-time roles and to make a meaningful difference in health and vitality for millions of people globally.

Key Responsibilities

Gain valuable knowledge on top health industry trends and integrated data analytics
Conduct research and present findings
Perform data analysis and reporting
Lead 2-3 key projects as assigned by department
Collaborate cross-functionally to support the product analytics department
Analyze health services utilization trends among populations with specific conditions
Develop dashboards that provide strategic insights for internal stakeholders
Research emerging hot topics to support ideation and brainstorming
Analyze drivers of medical spend using statistical techniques and recommend actions to mitigate cost increases

Requirements

Rising senior working towards a bachelor's degree
Preferred majors include Biomedical Informatics, Health Information, Business, Analytics, Public Health or related field
Experience with prior database skills is preferred
Proficiency with SQL and SAS, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel)
Strong attention to detail and ability to think analytically
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong business aptitude and problem solving skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Self-starter who is eager to learn and acquire new skills
A 3.0 GPA or above is preferred

Nice to Have

Experience with database skills
Proficiency with SQL and SAS

Qualifications

Eligible to work in the United States without visa support
Availability to work 40 hours/week for 10 weeks starting May 18, 2026
