About the Role

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Specialty Software Engineer, as part of the Wealth & Investment Management Technology. This role involves designing, developing, testing, documenting, and analyzing specific modules or features of new or upgraded software systems and products, requiring technical knowledge and leadership in complex initiatives. The position emphasizes collaboration across teams, risk management, and operational efficiency within a financial services environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead complex initiatives on selected domains
  • Ensure systems are monitored to increase operational efficiency and managed to mitigate risk
  • Define opportunities to maximize resource utilization and improve processes while reducing cost
  • Lead, design, develop, test and implement applications and system components, tools and utilities, models, simulation, and analytics to manage complex business functions using sophisticated technologies
  • Resolve coding, testing and escalated platform issues of a technically challenging nature
  • Lead team to ensure compliance and risk management requirements for supported area are met and work with other stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives
  • Mentor less experienced software engineers
  • Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including managers
  • Lead team to achieve objectives
  • Partner with production support and platform engineering teams effectively

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Specialty Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively across organizational lines and with virtual team members

Nice to Have

  • Background in agile environments and cross-functional team collaboration
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Understanding of non-functional requirements and software design best practices
  • Experience with CI/CD tools
  • 2+ years of experience in Financial Industry
