Manager - Quality Engineering

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Directs a team of quality engineers in the testing and quality of solutions, and ensures completion of all deliverables within schedule, budget, and quality constraints.
• Directs team in development of best in class deployment processes and guidelines as it relates to QE testing, and evangelizes these to ensure minimal impact on the customer.
• Acts as the escalation point person to resolve issues that may affect release, scope, schedule, and quality.
• Leads the development of test automation ensuring optimal automation coverage and testing efficiency, and provides training opportunities for staff members.
• Signs off on performance and test case reviews, and communicates test results to various Business Stakeholders and Management.
• Leads Root Cause Analysis meetings, solving complex issues for all systems implemented in the restaurant currently and in the future.
• Works with and guides external vendors and consultants to ensure successful completion of initiatives and meeting service level agreements.
• Implements changes to processes or procedures related to Digital/POS/Technology Suite to increase efficiency.
• Manages full employee lifecycle including hiring, onboarding, coaching, development, and termination of staff members.
• Provides direction to vendors on all strategically assigned projects.
• Performs hands-on testing on large-scale Point of Sale systems (e.g., NCR Aloha, Radiant, Micros).
• Monitors application logs, addresses technical issues, facilitates resolution, and follows up with development and cross-functional teams.
• Prepares detailed status reports, monitors defects and issues, and socializes metrics related to team, release, and QA performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Technology, Computer Science, Hospitality, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional Manager of QA/QE experience.
• Previous people management skills.
• Expert knowledge of manual tools and Test Management Tools (Jira, Confluence, Practitest, Zephyr).
• Strong leadership and coordination skills for large-scale end-to-end testing efforts.
• Technical aptitude to understand system architecture and component interactions.
• Experience with Test Planning, Test Estimation, Test Strategy, Test Cases Design, Test Environment Setup, Test Data Setup, Defect Management, and Configuration Management.
• Ability to monitor application logs, address technical issues, and facilitate resolution with development teams.

Nice to Have

• Hands-on testing experience on large-scale Point of Sale systems such as NCR Aloha, Radiant, or Micros.

• Educational background with a Bachelor's Degree.
