About the Role

Google's software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. The Pixel team focuses on designing and delivering the world's most helpful mobile experience by combining Google's artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build innovative smartphones and create transformative user experiences across the globe.

Key Responsibilities

Lead cross-team initiatives to define, measure, optimize, and monitor key performance indicators in Pixel Camera's Android application code.
Collaborate with Camera feature and on-device ML teams to ensure features are optimized for speed, memory, and thermals.
Develop and utilize telemetry data infrastructure to offer leadership insights crucial for verifiable high performance, reliability, and system health.
Provide insights from advanced profiling tools to prioritize and validate improvements.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java).
1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
Experience with Android development.
Experience with performance optimization.

Nice to Have

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
3 years of experience shipping embedded software products.
Experience with performance and memory optimization.
Experience developing Linux, Android, or embedded systems.
Experience with TPU, GPU, and on-device ML models.
Experience with SQL and data pipelines.

Qualifications

Formal educational background includes at least a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

Benefits & Perks

US base salary range for this full-time position is $166,000-$244,000 plus bonus, equity, and benefits.
