About the Role

The PHP Web Developer will support the agency's Drupal and WordPress platforms, develop and maintain web applications, and manage related databases and documentation. This role involves working closely with internal teams to implement technical solutions that support Library programs and operations in Austin, TX on a contract basis.

Key Responsibilities

Administer and maintain Drupal and WordPress websites.
Design and develop web and browser-based applications.
Develop custom themes, workflows, and tools within a CMS environment.
Maintain and document secure, scalable code.
Provide training and support to agency staff.
Participate in cross-agency meetings related to web standards and implementation.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
8+ years of experience with PHP development using LAMP/LEMP stack.
Experience with Drupal and WordPress administration.
CMS-based web development including themes, modules, and workflows.
Front-end development skills with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery.
MySQL database design and management.
Linux OS and command-line tools experience.
Experience with web frameworks like Laravel, Django, or Symfony.

Nice to Have

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
Experience with Python in LAMP/LEMP environments.
Knowledge of AJAX and responsive web design.
Experience with Drupal tools like Drush.
Experience with Solr or other search systems.
Experience with Remedy or KACE ticketing systems.
Certifications in web development or programming.

Qualifications

8+ years of PHP development experience.
8+ years of experience with LAMP/LEMP stack.
8+ years of experience with Drupal, WordPress, front-end development, and relevant frameworks.
