Job Description

About the Role

This is a hybrid role based out of Columbia Brands' HQ office near Portland, Oregon. The Principal Full Stack Engineer will utilize technical, data engineering, software development, and continuous delivery skills to build and maintain a complex cloud-based data platform that integrates data from Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations with other enterprise systems. The role involves engaging with teams and management, driving results, supporting software development lifecycle activities, and collaborating on deployment and release processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize technical, data engineering, software development, and continuous delivery skillsets to build and maintain a complex cloud-based data platform.
  • Communicate effectively, build relationships, and deliver high-quality software in a complex cloud environment.
  • Engage at the team and management level to support enhancements in software development, delivery, and maintenance.
  • Support and participate in release deployment and post go-live activities, providing status updates and documentation.
  • Collaborate with Development and DevOps teams to define branching, merging, and releasing processes for frequent deployments.
  • Perform deployment tasks with limited supervision and ensure high-quality documentation for cross-training and knowledge transfer.
  • Support release efforts by triaging, escalating, and resolving mission-critical issues.
  • Work with IT management to improve software engineering processes, practices, and tools.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (foreign equivalent acceptable).
  • 36 months experience in the relevant role.
  • 3 years experience with SQL, able to develop prototype data models and write complex queries.
  • 2 years experience with Agile software development, including working with production data delivery.
  • 2 years of experience in a global IT outsourcing organization.
  • 2 years experience with Python and/or PySpark development languages.
  • 2 years experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 DIXF/DMF.
  • 1 year of experience with Azure Data Factory and Azure Databricks (experience in Airflow and AWS is acceptable).
  • Experience in Cloud Architecture and traditional data management architectures.
  • Experience in release management across multiple applications and environments (development, test, staging, production).
  • Experience working with IT management to improve software engineering processes, practices, and tools.
  • Experience with enterprise-scale development, testing, QA, and release management.
