Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and drive the cross-functional execution of various engineering functions to enable best-in-class customer solutions.
  • Drive AMD product solution deliverables and align with customer platforms to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Engage with the technical leadership team to understand and document program scope, establish integrated schedules, assess and manage program progress and risk, and create resource and budget plans.
  • Represent the Semi-Custom Engineering organization in corporate and executive planning and execution forums.
  • Work with the finance team and engineering team leads to keep the program budget on track.
  • Collaborate with the Core Leadership team (Chief Engineer, BU heads, Product Architects, etc.) and relevant team members to ensure compliance with customer gate checklists and contract milestone attainment with the business development team.
  • Act as the 'Voice of the Customer' while working with internal teams.
  • Define, plan, and drive projects and program plans based on management and senior technical guidance.
  • Apply thorough knowledge of project management principles effectively on small to large size projects.
  • Take responsibility for projects or processes of significant technical importance and for results that cross engineering project areas.
  • Initiate significant changes to existing processes and methods to improve project and team efficiency.
  • Create and maintain project management artifacts such as schedules, resource forecasts, risk and issues logs.
  • Provide unique views of project status updates and facilitate cross-development team dependencies and communications.
  • Identify action or mitigation plans for issues or risks that arise during the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with core teams and execution teams to identify areas requiring special attention or escalations to identify corrective actions.
  • Collect, analyze, organize, and publish work performance data via dashboards and recurring status reports.

Requirements

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and risk management skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently and manage effective relationships in a cross-functional organization.
  • Self-directed with the ability to work in complex and dynamic ecosystems.
  • Experience in program management, including defining, planning, and driving projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including interaction at executive levels.
  • Strong organizational skills and experience with project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proven ability to deliver large cross-functional strategic initiatives.
  • Ability to quickly grasp new technical concepts.
  • Business savvy with the ability to make technical vs business trade-off recommendations.
  • Formal project management education, such as PMP or Scrum Master certification.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer/Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
  • Preferred experience level: 5+ years of program management experience.
  • Familiarity with product development involving hardware platforms and related software ecosystems.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence across multiple internal functional organizations.
  • Strong networking and social skills.

  • People management experience.
  • Horizontal leadership/Matrix management experience.
  • Technical program management and customer relationship management experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer/Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
