About the Role

The role of Quality Assurance Lead - Assistant Vice President at State Street's Global Technology Services (GTS) team involves collaborating on proprietary Accounting applications and workflows. The person in this position will work with cross-functional teams, primarily in an agile environment, to deliver high-quality software solutions. The role is based in Boston/Quincy, Massachusetts, and focuses on ensuring the quality and effectiveness of software testing processes within the financial services domain.

Key Responsibilities

Understanding business requirements and defining test strategies and test plans for software applications.
Interacting with peers to proactively determine and resolve upstream and downstream impacts.
Executing test cases via automated tools and developing specific tests for applications and integrations, including user acceptance testing (manual and automated).
Participating in metrics gathering to propose and implement ongoing improvements.
Ensuring proper procedures and controls are in place throughout the software testing process.
Performing project tasks independently with minimal supervision and collaborating with team members within GTS.
Providing testing leadership by identifying opportunities for improvement in QA methodology and researching new approaches to automation, including AI.

Requirements

Bachelor Degree; Master’s degree is a plus.
6+ years of experience with software quality assurance in financial services or financial technology.
Proven knowledge of querying tools such as Oracle and DB2.
Understanding of software development life cycle, quality assurance standards, and testing methodologies.
Hands-on experience with Python and automation testing tools.
Strong critical thinking, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task.
Ability to work independently and within a team, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Nice to Have

Experience with IBM Datastudio.
Knowledge of AI tools and familiarity with TOSCA.
Exposure to Sprint and Test tracking tools such as JIRA, RTC, and ALM.

Qualifications

Bachelor Degree required; Master’s degree is a plus.
6+ years experience in software quality assurance within financial services or fintech.
