About the Role

Wells Fargo Bank N.A. seeks a Quantitative Analytics Specialist in Charlotte, NC. The role involves performing highly complex activities related to the design, development, validation, implementation, documentation, and ongoing maintenance of quantitative models that provide insights for product, business, or risk mitigation initiatives. The position requires advanced mathematical skills, programming, and collaboration to support various business needs and process improvements, with telecommuting permitted up to 2 days a week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform highly complex activities related to the design, development, validation, implementation, documentation, and ongoing maintenance of quantitative models.
  • Utilize advanced mathematical skills and programming to create and validate analytic models.
  • Develop, implement, and calibrate various analytical models.
  • Perform statistical and mathematical modeling using Python, R, SAS, C++, and SQL.
  • Provide analytical support and insights regarding a wide array of business initiatives.
  • Analyze work flow processes to make recommendations for process improvement in risk management.
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, managers, and regulators to resolve issues and achieve goals.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or PhD in Applied and Computational Mathematics or a related quantitative field.
  • Two (2) years of experience in a quantitative analytics role or related field.
  • Experience with programming languages including SAS, R, C++, Python, SQL, and MATLAB.
  • Knowledge of predictive modeling using statistical and machine learning techniques.
  • Experience with stochastic modeling, optimization, simulation, computational statistics, and machine learning.
  • Ability to develop and validate statistical models and document outcomes.
  • Familiarity with best modeling practices in data processing, sampling, model design, performance assessment, and testing.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with financial products and risk mitigation initiatives.
  • Experience working in a regulated environment or with regulatory agencies.

Qualifications

  • Degree required: Master's or PhD in Applied and Computational Mathematics or related field.
  • Experience: Two (2) years in a quantitative analytics role or related experience.
