Senior Backend Software Engineer - TikTok Privacy Product

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain systems that enhance privacy across TikTok.
• Work with engineering and product teams to ensure TikTok's compliance with privacy laws and regulations from a technical perspective.
• Lead large and cross-functional projects, coordinating with engineers and stakeholders to ensure cohesive launches.
• Impact software architecture, dependencies, performance, and business value.
• Respond to privacy incidents, including collecting information on scope and root cause and managing remediation.

Requirements

• Experienced in building backend services for large-scale consumer-facing applications.
• Proficiency in at least one of the following languages: Java, Go, C++, Python, Java.
• Deep understanding of computer architectures, data structures, and algorithms.
• Good team communication and collaboration skills.

Nice to Have

• BS/MS Degree in Computer Science or equivalent majors.
• 3 years of industry experience developing and implementing privacy features and solutions.

Qualifications

• Experience in building backend services for large-scale consumer-facing applications.
• Proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages: Java, Go, C++, Python.
• Deep understanding of computer architectures, data structures, and algorithms.
• Good communication and collaboration skills.

• Annual base salary range of $194,000 - $355,000, depending on factors such as qualifications, skills, and location.
