About the Role

The Asset Protection Business Analyst Senior will be a key member of the Asset Protection Operations team helping to provide stakeholders with data insights that empower business decisions. This individual will keep a constant pulse on the performance of key Asset Protection metrics and work cross-functionally with many teams. As an integral part of the Asset Protection Operations team, the Business Analyst Senior is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and presenting data to improve decision making around projects related to Nordstrom's Asset Protection and Store Operations. This individual should have a high degree of curiosity about the business and the skills to discover impactful insights from data and communicate those insights in a way that builds confidence and enables decisions that drive business value.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide analytical support on core KPI's for the Asset Protection Operations team via report creation, maintenance, and ad hoc analytics
  • Partner with key stakeholders including store leadership, finance, data teams, and internal leadership to ensure clear direction and data integrity for all reporting and analysis
  • Develop and maintain reporting and analysis on Asset Protection performance and KPI results in conjunction with key impacting initiatives
  • Use advanced data visualization techniques to communicate solutions to business stakeholders
  • Provide exceptional customer service through professionalism, ownership and initiative
  • Demonstrate productivity through the efficient use of time and a commitment to strong results
  • Establish a position and reputation for providing thought leadership in the area of data analysis

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Business/Financial analysis experience
  • BA/BS degree or applicable work experience in business or data analysis
  • Experience in telling the story with data
  • Expert level skills in Tableau, MS Excel, developing reports and financial models
  • Experience in SQL or other query language tools
  • Experience in labor and people productivity analysis
  • High level of comfort navigating and managing large data sets
  • Experience in providing structured and ad hoc analytical support for program initiatives
  • Enjoys presenting analysis and results to business stakeholders and leadership
