About the Role

The Senior CRA Analyst is a key role within the CRA Governance team at BMO Financial Group. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively. The position involves maintaining large data sets, developing reports and dashboards, analyzing trends, supporting CRA performance, and collaborating with business partners to support strong CRA outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build various reporting dashboards using data extraction, data cleaning, and data visualisation techniques to develop, maintain, and enhance CRA scorecards for the Lending, Investment, and Services Tests.
  • Develop reports that allow the audience to quickly understand CRA results and recommendations, enabling data-driven decisions and closing any line of business gaps to achieve CRA goals.
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data to provide answers to business questions and offer recommendations for CRA action planning.
  • Collaborate with business partners to prioritize requests and needs.
  • Provide quantitative analysis and insights to support CRA performance context, including extracting data from well-known public data sources to demonstrate impact in low-to-moderate-income communities.
  • Maintain current records of all branches and ATMs and changes to the service network.
  • Provide reporting and analysis on alternative delivery systems (ADS) usage by low- and moderate-income audiences.
  • Assist with CRA examination preparation, including creating tables for CRA small business and HMDA loan data.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors on analytics solutions for streamlining analysis.
  • Work independently and handle non-routine situations regularly.
  • Perform broader work or accountabilities as assigned as needed.

Requirements

  • Deep knowledge of the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA).
  • Knowledge of external data sources including government databases.
  • Experience using CRA Wiz SaaS software is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft products including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Knowledge of database management including Access, SQL, and JSON.
  • Experience working on a CRA exam is helpful.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Collaboration and team skills.
  • Typically between 5 - 7 years of relevant experience and a post-secondary degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
