About the Role

The Senior FHIR Software Engineer role involves developing enterprise-level backend solutions, working with modern technologies, and supporting healthcare quality reporting systems. The position offers the flexibility of 100% remote work within the US and involves collaboration across multiple project teams to deliver integrated solutions that impact healthcare data systems used by hundreds of thousands daily.

Key Responsibilities

Lead development of a FHIR based architecture as well as implementation
Work with a team of talented engineers, ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality solutions that meet business objectives
Perform code reviews and develop processes for improving code quality
Design and build microservices and serverless applications in the cloud
Work with Product Owner and UX design to understand and create solutions for diverse user requirements
Work with Architects and other Engineers to help create and then implement development best practices
Work with test engineering team to assure product quality
Collaborate in a fast-paced Agile environment
Participate in team code reviews and design reviews
Help support team triage bugs and troubleshoot production issues
Work independently to design, develop, and document solutions, adhering to all applicable standards
Work with DevOps engineers on CI, CD, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
Read specifications and translate them into test designs and automation

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
7+ years of experience with modern design patterns and building enterprise-grade applications
5+ years of experience testing code builds and deployment through CI/CD processes, using Jenkins or similar tools
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance
Reside and work in the U.S., with at least three full years lived in the U.S. out of the last five
Experience working with Java/Spring, FHIR, AWS cloud technologies, PostgreSQL, ECS/Fargate, Lambda, Terraform, Jenkins, Git/GitHub, Confluence/Jira
Strong understanding of software development principles and backend development experience
Experience working in Agile environments

Nice to Have

MS degree and 5+ years of additional technical experience
Experience working in the healthcare industry with PHI/PII
Federal Government contracting work experience
Experience working remotely full-time
Strong written and verbal communication skills
