Senior Network Developer

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in network lifecycle management through network build and/or upgrade projects.
• Collaborate with program/project managers to develop milestones and deliverables.
• Use existing procedures and tools to develop and safely execute network changes, and develop new procedures as needed.
• Serve as technical lead for team projects.
• Contribute to the development of roadmap issues.
• Lead development of new runbooks and methods of procedures.
• Mentor junior engineers.
• Participate in network solution and architecture design processes.
• Develop standalone features.
• Participate in operational rotations as either primary or secondary.
• Provide break-fix support for network events.
• Serve as escalation point for event remediation.
• Lead post-event root cause analysis.
• Coordinate with networking automation services for support tooling development and integration.
• Develop scripts to automate routine tasks for the team and business unit.
• Serve as SME on software development projects for network automation.
• Support network vendor software bug fixes and collaborate with vendor technical teams to resolve issues.

Requirements

• Experience in network build, upgrade, and operational support within a large-scale environment.
• Ability to develop and execute network change procedures using existing tools and develop new procedures when necessary.
• Technical leadership skills and experience mentoring junior engineers.
• Knowledge of network solution and architecture design.
• Experience with automation scripting and development.
• Ability to serve as SME on network automation software projects.
• Experience supporting network vendor software bug fixes and collaborating with vendor teams.

Nice to Have

• Experience with network automation tools and scripting languages.
• Familiarity with firmware and operating system qualification processes.
• Experience working with network vendor technical account teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in network design, deployment, and operational support in a large-scale environment.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation development.
• Leadership experience in technical projects.
