The role involves working with the Barron's team to enhance user engagement and technology optimization on one of the largest media sites on the web.
Key Responsibilities
- Successfully collaborate with engineers across other Dow Jones products to understand and improve standards of code development for shared applications and services.
- Learn about new technologies and be able to present pros and cons of adoption in terms of business value, scalability, maintainability, and project delivery performance.
- Influence designers and product teams to define goals that bring the most value to Barron's and align with the technical standards set.
- Be able to prioritize and manage work, adhering to critical project timelines in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- 2-4 years experience developing web applications as a full stack developer.
- Proven understanding of Computer Science fundamentals including web development, service-oriented architecture, cloud computing, test driven development and domain driven design.
- Strong understanding of Javascript and the best practices around the web.
- Understanding of capabilities with HTML5 and DOM manipulation.
- Advanced CSS Knowledge: Grid, Flexbox, Media Queries.
- Fluency in Node.js.
- Exposure to Docker, AWS or other cloud or container based application deployment a plus.
- Experience with technologies: ExpressJs, React, Redis, NextJs, Terraform, Webpack.
- Experience with market data, charts, and/or real time web updates via WebSockets etc. a plus.
