About the Role

We are Fiserv, a global leader in Fintech and payments, moving money and information reliably and securely. We connect financial institutions, corporations, merchants, and consumers worldwide, impacting daily financial transactions such as credit card swipes, mobile payments, and bank withdrawals. The Senior Software Engineer role involves serving as a technical leader in developing industry-leading software, primarily in a midrange systems environment based on Unisys/iSeries in Cobol, supporting Bank Solutions product strategies and market needs in an Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities

Research, define, and complete enhancements to financial software products
Participate in and lead strategic planning sessions and technical discussions, translating ideas into technical designs
Interact with external and internal clients to gather data, assist with design, and ensure solutions meet or exceed expectations
Collaborate with peer engineering teams to deliver high-quality software that helps clients improve their business processes

Requirements

6+ years of experience in software development using Java, .NET, or Cobol programming
4+ years of experience in architecture and design including scalability, performance, reliability, usability, and security
2+ years of experience with source management tools such as GIT or similar
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, work, or military experience

Nice to Have

Experience in the financial services industry
Experience in industry standard software design patterns and data modeling
Experience in test-driven development (TDD) and automated functional testing with tools like UFT, Postman, and Selenium
Experience in Agile and/or DevOps environments
Understanding of the relationship between software and hardware interaction

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, work, or military experience
