Senior Software Engineer - Azure Compute

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure software solutions that optimize datacenter power and cooling efficiency.
• Analyze large-scale telemetry and operational datasets to identify trends, detect anomalies, and drive data-informed decisions for dynamic power control.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware, research, and infrastructure engineering groups, to develop predictive models and control systems.
• Lead technical discussions and contribute to architectural decisions that impact multiple components or services.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, design specifications, and operational procedures for owned systems.
• Participate in and help improve the team's on-call rotation, ensuring high availability and rapid incident response for live services.
• Drive engineering excellence by promoting optimal practices in code quality, testing, observability, and operational readiness.
• Mentor and support the growth of early-career engineers through code reviews, design guidance, and knowledge sharing.
• Ensure compliance with Microsoft's standards for security, privacy, accessibility, and sustainability in all engineering work.
• Proactively identify opportunities for innovation and efficiency improvements across the Azure infrastructure stack.
• Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and internal tools to continuously improve system performance and team productivity.

Requirements

• Experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable and reliable software solutions.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret telemetry and operational datasets.
