About the Role

The Senior Software Engineer, Valuation and Analytics at Ridgeline is a key member of the Trading Team responsible for building complex, high-quality applications for the Trade Order Management solution. The role involves leveraging modern technologies, AI tools, and financial domain knowledge to shape an industry-defining platform, contributing to a culture of innovation and transformation within the investment management industry. The position requires work authorization in the United States without employer sponsorship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply trading domain knowledge, financial quantitative expertise, and technical skills to create solutions where design, strategy, and engineering closely intersect.
  • Be involved in the entire software development process, from requirements and design reviews as the platform undergoes asset class expansion.
  • Shape and optimize a tech stack leveraging AWS back-end services to power robust, scalable applications.
  • Participate in the creation and construction of developer-based automation that leads to scalable, high-quality applications customers will depend on to run their businesses.
  • Advocate design and development best practices in a pragmatic manner.
  • Coach, mentor, and inspire teams of product engineers responsible for delivering high performing, secure enterprise applications.
  • Think creatively, own problems, seek solutions, and communicate clearly along the way.
  • Contribute to a collaborative environment rooted in learning, teaching, and transparency.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in a software engineering role with a history of architecting and designing new products and technologies.
  • Expert level knowledge in Java or Kotlin (preferred) or equivalent.
  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science or equivalent discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience applying Design Patterns, OOAD/SOLID principles, and writing automated unit tests.
  • Strong motivation to explore and adopt new technologies while independently navigating complex codebases.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and an aptitude for tackling technical challenges.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • A positive attitude with a serious interest in having fun at work.

Nice to Have

  • Experience engineering in buy-side order management systems.
  • Working knowledge of complex financial instruments and their valuations.
  • Background in mathematics.

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science or equivalent discipline.
