About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain simulation software for military training and analysis.
• Lead software architecture decisions and mentor junior developers.
• Integrate models and simulations with C4ISR systems, data sources, and external interfaces (e.g., DIS, HLA, DDS).
• Translate operational military requirements into scalable and reusable software components.
• Develop and test simulation scenarios, models, and system behaviors to meet fidelity and performance goals.
• Work closely with systems engineers, subject matter experts (SMEs), and military users to validate and verify simulation capabilities.
• Ensure compliance with software development standards, security guidelines, and configuration management practices.
• Contribute to technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and user manuals.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• At least 5 years of software development experience, with at least 2 years in the M&S domain.
• Proficiency in one or more of the following languages: C++, C#, Java, or Python.
• Experience with simulation frameworks such as HLA (High-Level Architecture), DIS (Distributed Interactive Simulation), or OneSAF, JSAF, VBS, etc.
• Familiarity with DoD M&S standards and tools (e.g., STOW, RTI, SISO standards).
• Strong knowledge of software engineering best practices (Agile/Scrum, CI/CD, version control).

Nice to Have

• Master's degree
• Experience with GIS, terrain databases, or synthetic environment generation.
• Understanding of military doctrine, tactics, and operational scenarios.
• Experience with containerization technologies (OpenShift, Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms or distributed simulation environments.
