About the Role

The Software Engineer at 7-Eleven, Inc. is responsible for researching and developing machine learning and statistical models to optimize predictive analytics across the retail business. The role involves architecting and automating data pipelines using technologies like Python, Spark, SQL, and Azure, and working effectively with various teams to gather requirements and communicate insights. The position is based in Irving, TX, with a hybrid work arrangement that may include remote work.

Key Responsibilities

Research and develop state-of-the-art machine learning and statistical models to solve and optimize predictive analytics problems across the retail business.
Architect, develop, and automate data pipelines using technologies like Python, Spark, SQL, and Azure to establish interaction between stores, business groups, customers, and products.
Work and communicate effectively across various teams and stakeholders to gather requirements and present valuable insights in reports, documents, and presentations.
Maintain, support, and enhance existing machine learning models and data pipelines.

Requirements

Master's or foreign equivalent degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
At least 1 year of experience in a machine learning engineer, data scientist, data engineer, or similar role.
Experience with data analytics and building insights for at least 1 year.
Completion of university-level coursework, research project, internship, or thesis related to machine learning models in recommendations and forecasting.
Experience using Cloud platforms, Python, and SQL.
Ability to work in a hybrid role, including from home.
