Software Engineer

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for conducting thorough analysis and providing technical support for systems software products, including resolving complex problems, designing, developing, testing, operational integration, and offering user support
• Designs, codes, maintains, debugs, and configures enterprise software applications and products
• Works from specifications to develop or modify operating system applications
• Assists with the design, coding, benchmark testing, debugging, and documentation of programs
• Collaborates with other system support groups to resolve issues, establish standards, and enhance overall system efficiency
• Designs, codes, tests, and implements tools for operations automation
• Works with Risk Management Framework, STIG, Fortify, and SonarQube mitigation
• Works with server-side/database development and computer system administration

Requirements

• Current/active in-scope DoD issued SECRET security clearance
• Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline preferred from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience, or a Master's degree with 3 years of experience, or a PhD with 1 year of experience, or 9 years of related experience in lieu of a degree
• DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (e.g., Security+ CE, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, CCNA Security)
• Experience and knowledge of software engineering and development with Java/JEE
• Experience developing enterprise applications using Java
• Experience working with Unix/Linux systems
• Understanding of standard system engineering design artifacts such as Use Cases and SysML diagrams
• Experience working as part of an Agile team and understanding Agile methodology
• Proficiency with software development and management tools such as Git, Nexus, JIRA, Confluence, Maven/Gradle, Eclipse

• Experience developing software for Windows platforms
• Full Stack development experience
• Command and control system application development
• Automated test and pipeline development experience
• Test-driven development experience
• Experience with Software Integration testing, including developing automated test scripts

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field (preferred) or equivalent experience
• Security+ CE, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, CCNA Security or higher certification (required to start)
