Joining Cognizant as an entry-level Software Engineer involves analyzing, designing, programming, and testing software programs and applications across various industries. You will participate in our new hire training program to learn the latest technical skills.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, create, and modify general computer application software or specialized programs
Interaction and coordination with offshore team members for various client-specific tasks and enhancements
Maintain systems by monitoring, identifying, and correcting software defects
Java/Java EE/Spring microservice API development while providing expertise in the full software development lifecycle, from concept and design to testing
Design, develop and deliver high-volume, low-latency applications for mission-critical systems
Write well designed, testable, efficient code
Ensure designs are in compliance with specifications
Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and technologies and communicating these for architectural review

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or equivalent, preferably in Computer Science or Software Engineering
Strong Java application development skills (e.g., Core Java technologies, React JavaScript, Spring framework)
Development experience in C#, .NET, VB/ASP, and database experience
Experience with cloud computing platforms such as Azure, OpenShift, and AWS
Understanding of software development methodologies
Self-motivated with strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively with global project teams

Nice to Have

Experience in Object Oriented analysis and design using common design patterns

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent, preferably in Computer Science or Software Engineering
