About the Role

As a Frontline Software Engineer at Palantir, you will begin your journey on a short-term assignment embedded with customers, working directly with users to understand their challenges and deliver impactful solutions. This role offers a unique experience to engage with complex, ambiguous problems in important industries, helping to create products with immediate and long-term value. After the assignment, you will join one of Palantir's Software Engineer teams within the Foundry organization, working on designing scalable systems, developing secure and reliable platform components, or crafting intuitive user interfaces. The role emphasizes adaptability, collaboration, and learning across diverse technical environments and customer needs.

Key Responsibilities

Work directly with customers during short-term assignments to understand their needs and challenges.
Design, develop, and deliver impactful software solutions in complex environments.
Collaborate with small teams to own end-to-end project execution, including architecture discussions and coding custom web applications.
Engage with users to gather insights that inform product development and refinement.
Contribute to building scalable systems, APIs, and infrastructure that support data-driven workflows.
Develop secure, reliable, and high-performance platform components addressing distributed systems, data storage, and security challenges.
Architect and deliver end-to-end user experiences, creating intuitive interfaces and workflows.

Requirements

Strong engineering background in fields such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, or Physics.
Familiarity with storage systems, cloud infrastructure, front-end frameworks, and technical tools.
Solid understanding of data structures and algorithms with problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, Rust, JavaScript, or similar.
Ability to decompose complex problems into manageable components and write clean, effective code.
Ability to quickly learn new languages, technologies, frameworks, and paradigms.
Proven ability to collaborate with diverse individuals and empathize with users and stakeholders.
Demonstrated capacity to work independently and make effective decisions.
