About the Role

Uber is changing the way people think about transportation. Not that long ago, we were just an app to request premium black cars in a few metropolitan areas. Now we're a part of the logistical fabric of cities everywhere. Whether it's a ride, a sandwich, or a package, we use technology to give people what they want, when they want it. We're looking for engineers to join our team to help grow the UberEats ads business which enables eaters to discover new foods, and restaurants to grow their customer base. You'll work with teams behind apps used by millions globally every day and be a part of the technical foundations of a new product.

Key Responsibilities

Work on distributed backend system to support Ads business
Build data processing pipelines to process large amount of data

Requirements

Technical strength with 2+ years of experience developing and shipping code for production systems
Ability to learn quickly on the go and adapt to meet the needs of a rapidly-evolving business environment
Strong command of a backend stack (e.g., Golang, Java, Node.js, Python, etc.)
Deep system design skills to build highly-scalable, robust, and fault-tolerant services
Bias toward action, balancing speed and quality in shipping products
Passion and energy, with enthusiasm for contributing, making an impact, and growth
Strong collaboration skills and ownership of systems and products
Pride in the code written and a strong sense of engineering craftsmanship

Nice to Have

Past ads experience, especially in ad delivery area
Experience in ranking, retrieval, bid optimization, or budget pacing systems

Qualifications

Experience developing and shipping code for production systems
Proficiency with backend technologies such as Golang, Java, Node.js, Python
Experience in system design for scalable, robust, and fault-tolerant services
