About the Role

We are seeking a software engineer who has experience building user interfaces to help maintain and build out our catalog of native TV applications. The software engineer will engage stakeholders, assist in building features, and maintain existing functionality. We are a close-knit team focused on solving challenging problems that make a difference in our business, delivering high-impact, high-value development. This position reports to a Senior Software Engineering Manager and requires at least 4 years of experience in UI and OOP language development, ideally C++. The role involves working in a collaborative environment in our Dallas office five days a week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Requirement and scoping analysis, including understanding business, stakeholder, and technical requirements, and preparing requirement traceability matrices.
  • Contributing to the creation of user stories for components or modules based on scalability and other factors, especially within an agile methodology.
  • Creating and configuring minimalistic code for components or applications, ensuring they meet business and technical requirements, including nonfunctional needs like high availability and scalability.
  • Assisting in the selection of appropriate programming languages, standards, and tools for software development.
  • Building scripts for automation of repetitive tasks in CI/CD pipelines and implementing telemetry features as required.
  • Preparing and executing test cases, identifying errors, and conducting various testing types using tools like Selenium, Jira, Eggplant, etc.
  • Monitoring program metrics, reporting, and ensuring adherence to project milestones through CI/CD processes.
  • Tracking and analyzing defects, conducting regression testing, and troubleshooting performance or availability issues.
  • Conducting complex maintenance procedures, monitoring application performance, analyzing logs, and evaluating change requests.
  • Applying expertise to develop and improve business solutions, building relationships with stakeholders, and supporting organizational goals.
  • Demonstrating respect for all individuals, fostering a culture of belonging, and developing talent through coaching and mentoring.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of experience in UI and object-oriented programming language development.
  • Experience building user interfaces and working with native TV applications.
  • Knowledge of coding standards, guidelines, and languages such as JavaScript, Python, C, or similar.
  • Experience with frameworks and platforms like ActiveX, .NET, Cocoa, Android, Microsoft Azure, iOS, etc.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Monday.com, Linx, Embold, and concepts like SDLC, secure SDL frameworks, telemetry, CI/CD.
  • Ability to prepare and execute test cases, identify errors, and use testing tools like Selenium, Jira, Eggplant.
  • Understanding of defect lifecycle, defect tracking, root cause analysis, and troubleshooting performance issues.
  • Knowledge of program metrics, reporting, and monitoring tools, as well as maintenance and system performance evaluation.
  • Minimum educational qualification: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field, or 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Preferred experience with accessibility standards, assistive technologies, and creating inclusive digital experiences.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in gaming development.
  • Master's degree in computer science.
  • Knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards and digital accessibility best practices.

Qualifications

  • Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 2 years' experience in software engineering or related area.
  • Option 2: 4 years' experience in software engineering or related area.
