Software Engineer III, AI/ML GenAI, Google Ads

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
• Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
• Implement GenAI solutions, utilize ML infrastructure, and contribute to data preparation, optimization, and performance enhancements.
• Train and deploy models to detect and prevent bad actors from abusing Google's Ads system at scale.
• Innovate and iterate on new model architectures, such as transformer-based models and unsupervised anomaly detection models to detect bad actors before they cause material harm.
• Collaborate with partner teams & build real-time actor based risk control supported by an ensemble of models throughout the life cycle of advertisers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience with software development in Python, SQL, or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
• 1 year of experience with core GenAI concepts (LLM, Multi-Modal, Large Vision Models) and experience with text, image, video, or audio generation.
• 1 year of experience with ML infrastructure (e.g., model deployment, model evaluation, optimization, data processing, debugging).
• Experience with Machine Learning, AI Algorithms, and Data Analysis.

Nice to Have

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
• 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms.
• Experience with Anti-Abuse, Fraud Detection, and Machine Learning Infrastructure.
• Experience developing accessible technologies.

Benefits & Perks

• US base salary range for this full-time position is $141,000-$202,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.
