About the Role

Palantir builds the world's leading software for data-driven decisions and operations. As a Software Engineer within Palantir's Foundations organization, you'll have the opportunity to grow quickly by building shared infrastructure that underpins platforms like Foundry, Gotham, and Apollo. The role involves working on core infrastructure categories such as backend, developer, frontend, and storage infrastructure to improve performance, scalability, and developer productivity.

Key Responsibilities

Build features to improve the developer experience for Palantir engineers or enhance the scalability and reliability of Palantir's platforms.
Be involved throughout the product lifecycle, from idea generation and design to execution and rollout.
Collaborate closely with technical and non-technical counterparts to understand problems and build infrastructure solutions.

Requirements

Engineering background in fields such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, or Physics.
Familiarity with data structures, storage systems, cloud infrastructure, frontend frameworks, and other technical tools.
Experience coding in programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, or similar languages.

Nice to Have

Ability to write clean, effective code and learn new languages quickly.
Experience with open-source technologies like Cassandra, Spark, Elasticsearch, React, and Redux.
Passion for helping developers build better applications and empathy for the impact of changes on workflows and productivity.
Ability to communicate and collaborate with a variety of individuals, including engineers, users, and non-technical team members.
Willingness to learn, make decisions independently, and ask questions effectively.
Eagerness to explore open-source source code to understand how libraries work or debug issues.
Staying up-to-date with industry practices and open-source technology advancements.
Active US Security clearance or eligibility and willingness to obtain one.

Qualifications

Educational background in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, or Physics.
