About the Role

Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a full-time Software Engineer to support the software engineering lifecycle in a space domain context. The role involves working on innovative space solutions, supporting requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, and integration, with a focus on resiliency and security. The company emphasizes fostering innovation, reducing costs, and advancing space technology through partnerships and workforce development. This position requires special access and a Final Secret government security clearance, and is located at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the software engineering lifecycle following the program Software Development Plan (SDP).
  • Perform requirements analysis, object-oriented analysis & design, coding, and unit testing.
  • Assist with integration, formal testing, and delivery of software products.
  • Design and develop software using languages such as C or C++.
  • Work on embedded software/hardware systems.
  • Participate in full software life cycle development including software design, architecture, and testing.

Requirements

  • Experience with programming languages such as C, C++.
  • Experience or classroom knowledge with embedded software/hardware.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Aerospace Engineering, or related field from an accredited college/university.
  • Active/Final Secret Security Clearance.
  • Must be a US Citizen.

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of Agile Software Development.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
  • Previous experience designing to software requirements.
  • Experience with full software life cycle development including software design, architecture, and integration & testing.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Experience with embedded software/hardware.
  • Active/Final Secret Security Clearance.
