About the Role

DSS, Inc. is a leading health information software development and systems integration company, offering services and solutions utilized daily by thousands of clinicians and administrative staff across both public and private sectors nationwide. The Senior Software Engineer specializing in web application development will play a key role across the entire software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, and deployment. The role involves designing and building new products, developing modules for existing applications, and creating intuitive browser-based user interfaces.

Key Responsibilities

Develops, builds, debugs, codes and tests web enabled interfaces to DSS' products
Develops new features within existing products, develops new products, contributes to project work planning, performs product maintenance, produces enhancements and provides quick solutions to problems for the Product Line team(s)
Mentors Junior software engineers and other team members by sharing experience and knowledge
Serves as development point of contact on one or more projects
Adheres strictly to documentation requirements and deadlines
Provides feedback to assigned development team(s) on a regular basis
Contributes to project plans, performs product maintenance, produces product enhancements, and provides quick and effective solutions to problems which cannot be resolved by the product line team
Responsible for written and verbal communication with other team members, documentation of version notes, technical manuals, work activities and other work processes
Travels on an occasional basis up to 25% as directed by management and client need

Requirements

6+ years software development experience
3+ years web application development experience
Works independently and has acted as a mentor to Interns, Junior SW Engineers and SW Engineers
Detail-oriented approach to work
Translates business requirements into technical designs
Produced software in a structured maturity model environment and has demonstrated and verifiable software development skills in HTML5, JavaScript, CSS, XML, AJAX, AngularJS, jQuery, Java, C#, .NET (DotNet), Delphi, SQL Server
Identifies, prioritizes, and executes tasks to meet critical project deadlines
Works effectively under tight timelines and schedules
Possesses excellent listening skills and clear, concise communication skills
Organizes time effectively, proposes solutions, and sets priorities
Bachelor's degree in a related field of study; equivalent work experience and education may be substituted

Nice to Have

Any experience designing and developing EHR software
Master's Degree in a related field of study
Certifications such as MCSD, Advanced Certification in Web and Mobile Application Development, or other targeted certifications
