About the Role

MetLife Investments Technology is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to join the Derivatives technology department. The role involves engaging in hands-on development using the latest AI tools, integrating with Azure Cloud, and supporting legacy modernization efforts within a collaborative environment that works closely with front office traders, risk, compliance, and other business units. The position offers opportunities for professional growth in derivatives and exotic products, emphasizing Agile DevOps practices and infrastructure automation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in legacy modernization efforts and support new business initiatives within the Murex derivative product team.
  • Collaborate closely with front office traders, middle office, back office users, risk, and compliance partners.
  • Engage in hands-on software development primarily using Java and Oracle technologies.
  • Support the team's delivery of business value through infrastructure automation and DevOps pipelines.
  • Contribute to ongoing growth and learning about exotic derivative products and related financial domains.

Requirements

  • 4-6 years of experience in software development, with hands-on experience implementing Java.
  • Database skills, Object Oriented Programming, Design Patterns, and development knowledge, preferably with Oracle or SQL.
  • Experience with DevOps pipelines and infrastructure automation.
  • Strong technical understanding of designing and building enterprise-scale applications.
  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to establish strong cross-team relationships.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Agile software development.
  • Experience with test-driven development and continuous testing.
  • Exposure to modern AI concepts such as generative AI, machine learning models, large language models, and conversational AI.
  • Full stack engineering ability with object-oriented, maintainable code, preferably with Oracle.
  • Experience in financial domains, especially derivatives, and familiarity with Murex.
  • Experience with Reference Data, Market Data, and Pricing solutions.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
