About the Role

The Senior Manager, Solution Architect at T-Mobile is responsible for assessing and defining the architectural vision of Tier 1 and Tier 2 end-to-end solutions for Fraud, Credit, and Collections decision engine configurations for both new and existing customers. This role combines technical expertise, strategic vision, and thought leadership to enhance system performance, improve process efficiencies, and drive the integration of emerging technologies. The position involves leading scoping discussions, determining technical feasibility, and supporting the overall delivery of the strategy while managing a team of technical staff and fostering external partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and recommend technical direction to optimize the integrity and adaptability of the technical design throughout the solution's lifecycle.
  • Champion privacy, data protection, and regulatory compliance (including PCI, GLBA, CFPB, and Reg E) across consumer facing FinTech platforms.
  • Ensure secure architecture and data design for customer onboarding, credit decisioning, account servicing, and financial transactions.
  • Maintain system documentation, architecture blueprints, and technical standards to guide development and cross-team partnerships.
  • Participate in code reviews to uphold high-quality releases and maintain best practices.
  • Engage with multiple vendors, advocating for feature and functionality enhancements in future product releases.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to define technology strategy and provide recommendations on scope and workstreams.
  • Manage technical product teams by providing direction, feedback, coaching, and conducting performance reviews.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and encourage the ‘productization' of solutions for scalable success.
  • Manage challenges impacting customer experience by defining creative technical, functional, process, and policy solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or related field.
  • 7-10 years of relevant product management experience in an Agile software development environment.
  • 7-10 years of experience with Enterprise Systems Architecture.
  • 5-7 years of experience with Financial Services, FinTech credit decisioning platforms/solutions (e.g., FICO, EXP, TU, EQF).
  • 2-4 years of leadership experience managing teams of 5 or more resources.
  • Proven success in delivering software with Agile Scrum methodologies and experience with Agile backlog/project management tools.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in Java, JavaScript, and NoSQL technologies.
  • Experience with cloud architecture, specifically AWS and open source technologies.
  • Broad awareness of open source & AWS Cloud technologies.

Nice to Have

  • Experience configuring and testing decision engines such as FICO Platform, Experian PowerCurve, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with NoSQL technologies such as Aurora.
  • Advanced scripting skills in Python, Perl, or Shell and willingness to learn new technologies.
  • Experience with Source Code Management Tools.
  • Experience with Performance, Load, Stress, and Scalability Testing and automated testing frameworks.

Qualifications

  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
