Sr. Software Engineer - Python & C++, Bash & Linux

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and execute assigned tasks efficiently, taking initiative without needing guidance
• Lead distinct engineering projects with less-defined problem definitions
• Contribute technically to design phases within your project area
• Act as a resource and collaborate with engineering and cross-functional teammates
• Communicate project developments effectively to stakeholders
• Improve distribution systems for international data
• Learn about global routing systems
• Research new technologies to boost performance and stability

Requirements

• 5+ years' experience in software engineering
• Python and C++ language experience
• Bash and Linux experience
• Familiarity with object-oriented software design
• Willing and able to be on call 5% of the time

• Ability to learn new technologies
• Experience with scalable infrastructure platforms like Heroku or AWS
• Experience with Databases (Redis, MySQL, DynamoDB, etc)
• Experience with Python-based web frameworks like Flask or Django

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work both independently and in groups

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent

• Salary range of $130,000.00 - $150,000.00 in Connecticut and New York
