The Role: We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join our team to develop applications to support our front line and back office agents that support our members. Recent developments and advancements in AI are enabling our team on opportunities to bring AI automation and streamline agent-user interactions. We are actively seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Software Engineer to join our innovative and rapidly growing team. As a Staff Software Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and deploying these next-generation applications. You will be instrumental in architecting scalable and resilient solutions that can handle the complexities of AI integration while ensuring a seamless and intuitive user experience for our agents. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and testing of system components/services, code and design reviews
  • Shape the architecture of our product
  • Deliver highly available and scalable services in a production environment
  • Mentor other engineers, support the technical culture, and help grow the team
  • Generate ideas for new initiatives and technologies
  • Communicate with project leads, product managers and other software developers
  • Think out of the box

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree, ideally in a technical field, but relevant work experience is also considered
  • 8+ years programming experience, ideally on a modern stack
  • Our core stack is React / Java / Kotlin / Spring / PostgreSQL / AWS bedrock, but expertise in all is not required
  • 6+ years Java or Kotlin programming experience and understanding of relational databases and ORMs
  • Willingness to collaborate and get things done
  • Strong sense of responsibility and drive to complete projects
  • Experience working in a collaborative coding environment (including git), refining designs, code reviews, and managing pull requests
  • Mentor junior developers
  • Understanding of operational excellence and monitoring tools such as DataDog
  • Understanding of AI terminology and LLM usage is a plus
  • Solid fundamentals in programming skills

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical field or relevant work experience

  • 6+ years Java or Kotlin experience

  • The base pay range for this role is $153,600.00 - $264,000.00, with final offer based on experience, skills, and location
