About the Role

The Studio at SYPartners is a small, expert team specializing in physical and digital design, multimedia, animation, and hands-on print production, partnering with internal and client teams to create engaging experiences in both digital and physical forms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design concepts and deliverables across various media, including print (books, packaging, experiences) and digital (decks, websites, apps, digital platforms, site maps, wireframes, video, audio).
  • Manage and execute printing requests, including operating printers, trimming, bookbinding, 3D printing, laser cutting, prototyping, and environmental setups.
  • Scrub and prepare files for print and presentation, ensuring high-quality output through proofing, file conversions, cleanup, spell-check, asset optimization, and final output delivery.
  • Coordinate and manage vendor relationships for off-premises printing and production needs.
  • Assist in location assessment, setup, and breakdown of in-person client experiences at SYPartners and off-site events.
  • Develop close relationships with Program Managers to create schedules, deadlines, and contingency plans within project and budget constraints.
  • Effectively communicate design expectations, concepts, and rationale both verbally and visually.
  • Collaborate with designers and strategists to produce impactful deliverables.

Requirements

  • Candidates must be within commutable distance to the NYC office and capable of working remotely.
  • 2+ years of experience at an agency or in-house setting.
  • Experience in print and pre-press production, including hands-on tasks like cutting, taping, mounting, and installing materials.
  • Proficiency in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Google Docs, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work in 2D and 3D design environments.
  • Experience operating 3D printers, laser cutters, and other advanced maker tools is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with extreme attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines and manage multiple projects.

Nice to Have

  • Education or apprenticeship in Graphic Design, Production, Environmental/Exhibition Design, Architecture, Industrial Design, Interior Design, or related fields.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams and taking direction from senior members.
  • Ability to design assets for and operate advanced maker tools like 3D printers and laser cutters.

Qualifications

  • Educational background or apprenticeship in relevant design or production fields preferred.
  • Experience in print and pre-press production.
