The Test Engineering, Lead Associate role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure quality and security in software solutions, supporting defense system capabilities within a federal framework, and working in an Agile environment. The position is remote and requires active security clearance, focusing on automation testing, test framework development, and integration within CI/CD pipelines. Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop automated test scripts for web applications using industry-standard testing frameworks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand software requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Execute and maintain automated test suites, ensuring comprehensive test coverage.
  • Identify, document, and prioritize test cases based on risk and business impact.
  • Integrate automated tests into the continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipeline.
  • Collaborate with developers to troubleshoot and resolve issues identified during testing.
  • Stay updated on testing best practices, industry trends, and emerging tools.
  • Develop test system modifications or new development to prepare for implementation across multiple projects.
  • Lead the creation of test automation frameworks; perform testing of developer applications; install, configure, and administer testing automation applications.
  • Develop automated testing programs addressing database impacts, software scenarios, security, and usability.
  • Lead automation, integration, and testing efforts to ensure defects are mitigated.
  • Coordinate testing of software defects, enhancements, and upgrades with users and application teams.
  • Lead the development and execution of automation test scripts using tools such as Selenium, configuring testing frameworks accordingly.
  • Support test events including system, integration, independent verification & validation, and user acceptance tests.
  • Participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Work collaboratively with infrastructure and development teams to create automated test scenarios.
  • Ensure compliance with Section 508 accessibility standards.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience with a BS/BA degree or 3 years with an MS/MA.
  • Active Secret security clearance.
  • Proven experience as an Automation Test Engineer focusing on web applications.
  • Proficiency in test automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, or similar.
  • Strong programming skills in languages like Java, Python, or JavaScript.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD tools.
  • Solid understanding of web technologies and architecture.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and Kanban framework.
  • Familiarity with DevOps principles and practices.
  • Experience with functional, integration, system acceptance, and user acceptance testing phases.
  • Experience developing repeatable test procedures, executing tests, recording results, and working with developers to resolve issues.
  • Proficiency with open-source automation tools such as Selenium WebDriver, Cucumber, Gherkin.
  • Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment and build tools.
  • Must have DoD 8570 certification (e.g., CISSP or Security+), or ability to obtain upon start.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with scripting in UNIX-based languages or Python.
  • Experience with SCM solutions such as GitLab or Artifactory.
  • Familiarity with LoadRunner, Amazon Cloud Services, HTML, XML, ServiceNow.
  • Testing certifications like ISTQB or Selenium WebDriver.
  • Experience with API testing tools and frameworks.
  • Knowledge of performance testing tools such as JMeter.
  • Proficiency in Java programming language.

Benefits & Perks

  • Target salary range of $80,000 - $128,000 based on experience and other factors.
