About the Role

The 2025-2026 Honors College, Social Media Student Assistant position at Florida International University involves supporting marketing and communications efforts within the Honors College. The role includes assisting with content creation, social media management, and administrative tasks to promote the unit and engage the student community. The position is located at the Modesto A. Maidique Campus and is a temporary, Federal Work Study opportunity aimed at current FIU students.

Key Responsibilities

Create content including photography, graphic design, and video editing.
Help with posting on social media platforms.
Increase student and community awareness of the unit by proposing marketing ideas and campaigns.
Measure success of social media posts by providing data and analytics.
Assist in writing articles for publication on the Honors website.
Provide general administrative assistance.
Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

Current FIU student eligible for Federal Work Study.
Ability to use graphic tools such as Adobe Creative Suite and Canva to create flyers, posts, and info graphics.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends.

Nice to Have

Experience with social media management and content creation.
Strong communication skills.
Interest in marketing, communications, or related fields.

Qualifications

Enrolled at FIU with a minimum of six (6) credit hours during Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters.
Awarded Federal Work Study as part of Financial Aid.
