About the Role

The AI Software Engineer II will develop, program, and train complex networks of algorithms that encompass AI to function like a human brain. This role involves expertise in software development, data science, data engineering, and programming, with responsibilities including uncovering and pulling data from various sources, creating and testing machine learning models, and building AI applications using embedded code or APIs. The position is within the Environmental Solutions Group - 3rd Eye, focusing on innovative, eco-friendly solutions to transform the waste industry, with locations in Austin, TX or Chattanooga, TN, and reports to the Director of BI and Process Design.

Key Responsibilities

Model, build, and test AI software, including computer vision and machine learning models, to handle large data sets and achieve desired results.
Use Python, JavaScript, and C++ to create faster, more capable AI systems.
Analyze statistics, data, and algorithms for projection accuracy.
Use AI analysis to make strategic recommendations aligned with company goals.
Collaborate with a team of machine-learning and data engineers to ensure seamless AI development and integration.
Partner with firmware teams to deploy AI models on edge devices.
Develop and implement AI solutions for real-time processing on edge devices.
Work with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and design efficient edge computing solutions.
Stay current on AI knowledge, trends, and regulations.
Collect, organize, and present progress updates to team leadership and stakeholders.
Minimal travel required, approximately 2-3 times a year for team events.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
3-5+ years of experience with Python.
Proficient knowledge of Linux.
Strong programming skills with moderate to high experience in Python.
Excellent knowledge of relational databases such as MySQL, SQL Server, and/or Snowflake.
Understanding of Agile software development practices and continuous delivery.
Experience with data ETL processes from multiple sources.
Experience with test-driven development (TDD).
Knowledge of Pandas Python frameworks.
Proficient understanding of version control systems (git).
Proficient understanding of Jenkins and build management tools.
Strong organizational, mathematical (statistical), analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work under limited supervision and handle routine matters independently.

Nice to Have

Experience with AWS S3.
Experience with Snowflake DB.
Experience with Power BI.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree or higher in a related technical field or equivalent experience.
